This fast-casual Mexican concept is poised to make its Charlotte debut. Fuzzy’s Taco Shop plans to open its first location in this fall.
Franchisee Southern Deli Holdings says it is finalizing its first lease — but isn’t ready to disclose a location. Fuzzy’s operates more than 100 locations across the country. It got its start in Fort Worth, Texas, in 2003.
“We’ve been huge fans of Fuzzy’s as customers in its existing markets, and know that Fuzzy’s is a great compliment to the two other brands that we are developing throughout North Carolina,” says Merrick McKinnie, president of SD Holdings.
SD is the exclusive franchisee for Fuzzy’s in the Tar Heel State and plans six locations over the next four years. It also operates a total of 30 locations of McAlister’s Deli and MOD Pizza across the Carolinas.
The Fuzzy concept offers Baja-style Mexican fare with options for breakfast through dinner.
The menu includes breakfast tacos and burritos as well as huevos rancheros, migas and chilaquiles.
But Fuzzy’s signature dish is its Baja Tacos.
Food is made-to-order. That means customers can choose from soft or crispy taco shells and from a wide-range of proteins including chicken, brisket, veggie, tempura fish or shrimp and toppings.
Other selections jumbo burritos, salads, nachos, quesadillas and sandwiches. Fuzzy’s Taco also dishes up enchiladas, fajitas and combo plates with sides such as cilantro-lime rice or Latin-fried potatoes.
