MOD Asheville was the site of a gas station from 1925 to May 2015. Originally a Standard Oil, it was then Walter Johnson’s Esso Service and was most recently North Asheville Exxon. Built in 1985, the current building is 2,369 square feet with seating for 60, and an outdoor patio that will accommodate 28. MOD’s unique interiors include its iconic “Wall of Fame” which features local Asheville landmarks, along with images of MOD customers and employees from around North Carolina. To pay homage to the building’s past, vintage mechanical “creepers’ are displayed on the wall.
